On June 9, 2022, the 8th World Telecommunication Development Conference of the International Telecommunication Union "Partnership for Connectivity" Digital Development Roundtable was held in Kigali, capital of Rwanda, in an online and offline manner. Yu Xiaohui, Secretary-General of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology and Secretary General of ISC , attended the meeting online and delivered a speech.
Yu Xiaohui pointed out that the current new round of scientific and technological revolution and the epidemic are intertwined and superimposed, and it has become a global consensus to accelerate digital transformation and use digital technology to promote economic recovery and sustainable development; improve digital literacy, use digital technology to enhance work and life skills and happiness. At the same time, unbalanced development issues such as the digital divide and capability differences still exist, which require the attention of the international community.
The World Telecommunication Development Conference is a high-level meeting of the International Telecommunication Union with the theme of global telecommunication development. It aims to exchange telecommunication policies and development experiences of various countries and formulate relevant strategic plans and action plans. The "Partnership for Connectivity" Digital Development Roundtable mainly focuses on the opportunities and challenges in the digital age, and invites various stakeholders to hold high-level discussions on topics such as achieving connectivity, promoting universal access, and bridging the digital divide to deepen partnerships and cooperation.
