Jointly hosted by Internet Society of China and Microsoft, the 2008 U.S.-China Internet Industry Forum (UCIIF)was held in Shanghai, China on Nov 7th, 2008. More than 100 high-level participants from both countries attended the Forum. The President of ISC, Madam HU Qiheng released a keynote speech at the forum, addressing and calling for the further mutual understanding and cooperation between the two countries’ Internet/IT industry.
Other keynote speekers included Cai Mingzhao, Vice Minister of the State Council Information Office, Craig Mundie, Chief Research and Strategy Officer of Microsoft, Ya-Qin Zhang, Chairman of Microsoft China, and Bea Camp, US Consul General in Shanghai.
With the overall theme of Development and Cooperation, the Forum focused on issues such as Internet technology, Internet information dissemination, Internet governance and network security. And this is the second Forum while the first was held in U.S. last year.
The Forum attracted renowned Internet/IT companies both at home and abroad including Xinhuanet, People.com.cn, Sina, Sohu, Netease, Tencent, Alibaba, CCTV.com, China.com.cn, Microsoft, Yahoo, Google, Cisco, eBay etc.
