Provincial Work Symposium of ISC Convoked in Beijing

Provincial work symposium of Internet Society of China (ISC) was convoked at Beijing International Convention Center on August 31st, 2004. Huang Chengqing, Vice-secretary General of the first session of Board of ISC, presided over the symposium. Delegates from 26 Internet Society of provinces, autonomous regions and municipal cities participated the symposium.
In the symposium, Huang gave a brief introduction on ISC's work in recent years and then the delegates put forward advice and suggestions with regard to the work of ISC.
Symposium arranged the discussion about the self-check and self-rectification for implementing the network information contents services by the organizations who signed the 'Public Pledge of Self-Regulation and Professional Ethics for China Internet Industry' and made concrete assignment related to this issue, which required a two months' self-check and mutual check from September 10th to the middle ten days of November.
After discussing the 'Regulation for Organizational Administration of Internet Society of China (Draft)', 'Regulation for Membership Administration of Internet Society of China (Draft)' and 'Proposal for Chairmen of Provincial Internet Societies to Play the Role of Standing Board Members of the Board of Internet Society of China in Turn', delegates put forward many suggestions to perfect the Drafts and supported the 'Proposal'.
Moreover, Huang outlined the work of ISC in the near future, including:
1.to set up a classification for e-mail services in China;
2.to reinforce the training of e-mail server managers;
3.to enhance the cooperation with international organizations;
4.to participate the work of drawing international regulations related to Internet.
